Funky Downspout in Japan

The Japanese have a very different downspout than what is found in most of the world. Instead of having a piece of metal running from the top of the roof to the base of the building the Japanese use a simple chain that the water follows down to the ground. In the picture below you can see how different the downspout looks on this downspout in the Imperial Garden than it does it most places around the world.

Bullet Trains in Japan

Japan has some very fast trains. Here is a picture of the train that transports passengers from the airport to downtown Tokyo. The train travels upwards of 100 mph and makes the trip in about 45 minutes. With normal automobile traffic it takes over 90 minutes to travel the same distance in a bus.
